Inspection and testing should be periodically carried out. This is not just so land lords and employers keep a record of the condition of the electrical systems but for insurance purposed too.
All signed off work registered to the part P building regulation scheme.
All certificates issued upon completion of works.
Recommended maximum period between inspections as stated in guidance note 3
10 years (or change of occupancy)
Domestic property
5 years (or change of occupancy)
Commercial/office/village halls community center.
3 years
Leisure complexes/ Cinemas/industrial.
3 months
Construction Site
Both land lords and home owners could be liable if records are not kept up to date
